In brief

Who we are

Linnetvale is the trading name of a New Zealand sole trader business that provides digital services to businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

You can contact our privacy officer at [email protected] or by post at PO Box 163091, Lynfield, Auckland 1443. NZBN 9429054063136.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, business name, email address and anything you include in your message. If you become a client, we also keep details about your business, the photos and videos you share with us, the posts and review replies we prepare for you, and billing details.

Information from public sources. To find businesses that may benefit from our services, we collect business contact details that are already published, for example on a business's website, Google Business Profile, social media pages or online advertisements. This can include a business name, a work email address, and the name of a business owner or contact person where it is published.

Website usage. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this website: for example which pages are visited, how far people scroll, which links are clicked, and when the contact form is used. It also records general information such as your device, browser and approximate location (city or region). We do not send your name, email address or message to Google Analytics.

How we use it

Emails from us

We may email businesses whose contact details are publicly available, to introduce our services. Every email we send identifies Linnetvale, includes our contact details, and has a working way to unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, we will stop within 5 working days.

If we found your details from a public source and you would like to know where, or would like them removed, simply reply to any of our emails or contact us.

Client accounts and access

We ask clients to add Linnetvale as a partner on their Facebook Page and Instagram through Meta Business Suite, and as a manager on their Google Business Profile, rather than sharing passwords. Clients receive their own login to our content library to share photos and videos, and can see only their own pages there. Clients can remove our access at any time.

How long we keep it

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We use secure business accounts with reputable providers, and we limit access to the information to what is needed to do the work.

Cookies

This website uses cookies only for Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The website works normally without them.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 20 working days.

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
